Mission Statement

What is a church?What purpose or purposes does it serve? Members of Battery Park Christian Church have humbly attempted to carry out the following mission since its beginning in 1921.We invite you to join us in performance of these tasks.

SERVICE
To the greater community, as well as within the congregation.Matthew 20:26 “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.”

WORSHIP
Faithful and regular participation in communing with the Source of our being. Psalms150:1,6 “Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary;Let everything that breathes praise the Lord.”

EDUCATION
Discovering, understanding, and applying the Gospel.
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to present yourself as one approved by God,a workman who does not need to be ashamed.”

EVANGELISM
Extending the love of Christ to all
Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”

PASTORAL CARE Comforting and healing all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit
Matthew 25:40 “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers or sistersof mine, you did for me.”
